About Dr. Matthew W. Malan
Dr. Matthew Malan was born in Ogden, Utah as one of 8 children. He graduated from Weber High School in 1991, and shortly thereafter served an LDS Mission in Columbus, Ohio. Upon returning, he began his undergraduate work at Weber State University and later finished at Utah State University.
In 1998, Dr. Malan and his small family moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in Canada to attend dental school. He enjoyed his time at University of Saskatchewan, a state-of-the-art dental school with one of the only simulation dental clinics in the United States and Canada. He finished the 5-year program in 2003 earning a DMD (Doctor of Medical Dentistry); with this degree he is able to practice in both the United States and Canada. Upon graduating, he returned to Utah to work with his father, Max Malan, and his brother, Andre’ Malan.
Dr. Malan enjoys all aspects of dentistry, from the aesthetics of crowns and veneers, to the surgical procedures of implants and complicated extractions. He loves to expand his knowledge through continued education and by learning the latest skills and procedures in dentistry. He recently completed a course about mini dental implants in Buffalo, New York. Dr. Malan is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).
Dr. Malan, his wife, and their 5 children enjoy spending time together in the outdoors. Dr. Malan especially loves biking, skiing, and doing cross fit. He is respected by his patients for his gentleness and knowledgeability. We know that you will love Dr. Malan just as much as his staff and patients.
