Teeth Whitening
The foods you eat and drink have an impact on the color of your teeth. Dark liquids tend to stain teeth, causing them to yellow over the years. Proper brushing and flossing help, but a number of people still struggle with the color of their teeth. Our whitening services are designed to enhance your smile by brightening the color of your teeth. If you feel like your smile is lacking, contact Malan Heights Dental in Ogden to schedule your teeth whitening appointment!
Why Are My Teeth Changing Color?
Typically, the foods you eat and drink will have the biggest impact on the color of your teeth. Coffee and tea, along with red wine and soda are some of the biggest staining culprits. Tobacco use can also cause your teeth to have a yellowish coloring, too. Your age can also cause your teeth to become yellow as the outer enamel layer becomes thinner with years of brushing and eating, and other different lifestyle habits. Some medications have also been known to cause teeth to change color, as well.
How Does The Teeth Whitening Process Work?
When you come to see us, we will discuss the teeth whitening procedure with you. Our goal is to help you select a color that you feel comfortable with, and one that is realistic. Once we have gone over the initial examination and procedure, we will discuss how many appointments will be necessary for the treatment to work. Our in-office whitening products contain one of two tooth bleaches: hydrogen peroxide, or carabamide peroxide. Bleaches will need to sit on the teeth with the treatment to correctly penetrate the enamel and change the coloring.
We make custom bleach trays for home use or we sell disposable preloaded bleach trays, in our office. Based on your desired level of whiteness, you may need multiple visits to our dental office to properly treat your teeth with whitening products.
